Community Health Advocacy

OSF HealthCare is partnering with the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) through the Community Health Advocacy (CHA) program to address health and wellness challenges in urban communities.

Through the commitment from OSF HealthCare and the University of Illinois Chicago, matching gifts, resources and talent will collaborate on multidisciplinary projects.

The CHA program builds on the success of the OSF Innovation Lab at the UIC Innovation Center, where interdisciplinary teams of faculty and students work together to find new solutions to combat problems in health care.

The efforts will leverage grants and additional resources available from local, state and federal dollars focused on improving access to care and other barriers, particularly in low-income, under-resourced communities. OSF HealthCare brings expertise in driving digital innovation in health care and together, with faculty in UIC's 16 colleges and health sciences system, the CHA program will lead to innovative solutions to health-related problems that improve clinical outcomes and quality of care.

Projects

CHA is focused on combatting community health challenges in the greater Chicago Metro area. Our focus is to develop solutions that benefit our community and can be scaled to impact lives on a regional, national and global level.

Community Health Advocacy Projects

Request for Proposals

CHA is set to offer two Requests for Proposals each year in the fall and spring. The RFP process engages any Mission Partner from OSF HealthCare to partner with investigators from the University of Illinois Chicago developing a research project plan. Details of upcoming RFP's will be posted to this page and shared to all IAI members.

How are Projects Selected

Projects are reviewed by an independent panel of leaders, physicians, faculty and subject matter experts from OSF HealthCare and the University of Illinois. Projects are selected based on factors related to clinical need, market analysis, strategic alignment and other factors.
